The usual suspects in the bush are a dish that has shifted slightly, water in a connector, cable damaged by animals or sun, and an LNB that has come to the end of its life. The error on screen — often an E48 signal error — does not tell you which. We test at the dish and at the decoder, then fix the actual cause instead of replacing parts at random.

If your dish is mounted on a pole or a structure that moves in the wind, a firmer mount can make more difference than any new equipment.

Owners often want TV in a new room, a converted outbuilding or a deck area. We can add a point on the existing dish if it has the right LNB, or recommend an upgrade if it does not. When a house is being renovated, get in touch before the walls and roof are closed up — it is far neater to lay cable during building work than to add it afterwards.

Send a photo of the error message, the dish and the back of the decoder on WhatsApp, together with the part of the reserve you are in and the gate arrangements. That way the technician arrives with the parts most likely to be needed.
